The slopes of Yala Peak, although not particularly steep, were littered with crevasses and snow bridges. Progress was slow and deliberate as a fall would have been potentially fatal. Despite being roped up, Jacqui eventually had had enough excitement for the day and we reluctantly made our way down, having reached about halfway up.
